1966 – During a Who show at the Rikki Tik club in England, John Entwistle and Keith Moon are late so Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey go on with the opening act as their rhythm section. When Entwistle and Moon show up halfway through Townshend hit Moon over the head with his guitar. Entwistle & Moon quit the band to form a duo but they rejoin a week later.
1971 – Chicago’s Peter Cetera attends the Chicago Cubs – Los Angeles Dodgers baseball game in LA. some fans object to Peter’s long hair and he gets into a fight losing four teeth. He had to undergo five hours of emergency surgery.
1997 –U2 paid for traffic control to close down five lanes of a Kansas City interstate so they could shoot the video for ‘Last Night On Earth’. Not only did this caused major traffic jams in the area but a passing car crashed into a plate glass window trying to avoid a cameraman.
1998 – Tommy Lee of Motley Crue begins his sentence of 3 months in jail from an incident where he got in a fight with his wife, Pamela Anderson Lee.
2013 – Ray Manzarek, keyboardist for The Doors, dies at age 74.
