1979 – The Charlie Daniels Band released the single “The Devil Went Down To Georgia”.
1980 – The crowd during The Clash’s concert in West Germany was out of hand throughout much of their performance. Joe Strummer had smashed one aggressive fan over the head with his guitar. Strummer is arrested, but cleared after a test proves he was not drinking that night.
1983 – David Bowie hits number 1 with “Let’s Dance”. The song features Stevie Ray Vaughn on guitar.
