1979 – While battling a MCA records over his contract, Tom Petty files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, which stop the legal proceedings and forces MCA to negotiate.
1996 – Metal fans panicked as Metallica’s “Until It Sleeps” video debuted showing the band with short hair for the first time.
2000 – Billy Corgan announces his The Smashing Pumpkins will break up at the end of the year, saying they are tired of “fighting the good fight against the Britneys of the world.” Billy would reform the band in 2006.
2008 – A guy by the David Kuntz gets pulled over for speeding in Ontario, Canada. He tells the police he’s David Lee Roth & that he was suffering an allergic reaction. The real Roth was performing at Madison Square Garden with Van Halen.
