Military Hero

James was nominated by Sean Broadwell: Having served so far for more than 20 years I believe items such as this should be used for the Junior enlisted ranks or to call out specific community achievements. All too often you hear about leaders in the news in the wrong way. I want to tell you about Senior Chief James Dise. He works out of Little Creek, VA as an IT deployer. He arrives early and stays late, embedding himself with his Sailors and peers to create not only better servicemen, but greater citizens. Wearing his heart on his sleeve, and with humility, he won’t hesitate to meet you at a Starbucks for hours to help you out or review records in your off-time for advancements and administration. He is highly active within the community of Veterans, and most recently has shown his true nature yet again. A Sailor he works with was in a recent accident. He went to the scene, gathered all the personal belongings once released, and followed the ambulance to the hospital. He then stayed by the Sailors side, practically around the clock, for the next three days until the parent arrived from out of town. Once he made arrangements for the parents to finally see their son before the first set of surgeries he then got some real sleep. Many may say that’s our job. Yes, in battle it is. This is our family, but all too often stateside even military members fall pray to having to little time for others, for whatever reason, to stop and do what is right when the times needed. I am proud to say that James Dise is not one of those people. As such, I feel he is clearly a military hero of the week!
