Military Hero

Tim was nominated by his Finance Katrina : My fiancé Tim has been in the Navy for a little over 19 years. He has served in some of the most harsh conditions possible and has never complained. He views his low point when he lost one of his good friends over board and fought the elements for basic survival while looking for survivors. He rescued one shipmate but lost his good friend. The rest of the world views this as one of his shining moments... he was courageous and showed true valor that horrible night. He never wanted recognition for this as he feels any of his shipmates would have done the same for him, but I feel he should get true recognition for all of the things he has done his entire career as well as the courageous act of saving another's life. A few small highlights are: He has gone through a 13 hour high risk boarding where he swept an entire ship for explosives and arrested a senior person for a terrorist organization, deployed everywhere from Panama to the Persian Gulf, maneuvered his ship in and out of ports as an enlisted Officer of the Deck (under way), boarded and searched over 120 vessels and fishing dhows in the Gulf. He did this while taking care of his junior Sailors and Officers all along the way his entire career. He retires next year and I look forward to spending the rest of our lives together in a world made safer by the sacrifices he has made for the US Navy, his country, and himself.
